First time in Maui: 1986 spent part of a summer visiting with friends on their sailboat.
Moved to Maui in 2001 and that was the first time I saw kiting, it looked like a lot of fun. I spent my years in Colorado snowboarding and mountain biking, so surfing and kiting were a logical step here in Maui. It took me a few years to try it but once I did I was turned on. I learned at Kitebeach here in Maui, after a really windy month when the surf was blown out I said I have to do a wind sport and kiting was the answer. I enjoy teaching and  sharing the fun so kite instructing made sense. When I’m not kiting I spend time with my wife and 2 boys at the beach, go surfing, diving, kayaking or snorkeling.
